Advantage Plumbing Heating & Air

Good morning, Dayton!

Here’s Your Daily Dose of Dayton
Did you know…Dayton's Wegerzyn Gardens MetroPark is home to one of the most beloved children's discovery gardens in Ohio, giving generations of Miami Valley kids their very first hands-on connection to nature, plants, and the beauty of the outdoors right in their own backyard.

Inside Today’s Edition…

  • Dayton celebrates St. Patrick’s Day with music, food, and festive crowds.

  • Scouts launch their annual food drive to help local families in need.

  • Downtown DORA paused today, drinks stay inside bars and restaurants.

The hottest day of the year is the worst time to find out your AC isn't ready for it.

Most breakdowns don't happen randomly. A worn capacitor, low refrigerant, a dirty coil -- small problems that went undetected through winter and finally gave out under the pressure of a July heat wave. A failed compressor costs $1,500 to $2,500 to replace. An emergency call runs double the normal rate.

A $79 spring tune-up from Advantage Plumbing Heating & Air catches those problems now, before they become a midsummer emergency.

When Elliot's AC broke right after he bought his house, Advantage came out, found the issue, fixed it, and didn't charge him for the visit. That's who these people are.

4.8 stars. 918 Dayton reviews. They show up, they're honest, and they fix it right the first time.

Book your $79 AC tune-up before April 30th.

🍲 Scouts Invite Dayton to Help Fight Hunger
Scouts across the Miami Valley are inviting residents to take part in their annual “Scouting for Food” campaign. Volunteers distribute door hangers in neighborhoods asking for donations of nonperishable food, then return later to collect items for local food banks and pantries. The effort is one of the largest community service projects organized by the Miami Valley Council each year. Even a few donated cans can help provide meals to families facing food insecurity across the region.

🚫 No DORA Downtown for St. Patrick’s Day
If you are heading downtown to celebrate, take note: Dayton’s Designated Outdoor Refreshment Area (DORA) will not be active on St. Patrick’s Day. City officials can suspend the program during large events for safety reasons, and that will be the case this year. Normally, the downtown DORA allows adults to carry drinks purchased from participating businesses within designated boundaries from noon to midnight. On Tuesday, however, drinks will need to stay inside bars and restaurants.

St. Patrick’s Day celebrations are in full swing across Dayton, and Montgomery County leaders want to make sure everyone gets home safely. Prosecutor Mat Heck Jr. is once again launching the county’s ArriveSafe program, offering free Uber ride vouchers to help prevent impaired driving. Residents celebrating can scan the ArriveSafe QR code shared by the prosecutor’s office to claim a ride home during the holiday. The Greater Dayton Regional Transit Authority will temporarily reroute Routes 4 and 12 as parts of Wayne Avenue close for St. Patrick’s Day festivities near the The Dublin Pub. The changes run from Friday through Sunday, with buses detouring around the closure between Fifth and Bainbridge streets. Riders heading to the celebration can still take the bus and plan trips through the Transit app, with regular routes expected to resume Monday.
