TOGETHER WITH

Good morning, Dayton!

Here’s Your Daily Dose of Dayton
Did you know…Dayton almost had its own subway system? During the construction of the Dayton Union Station, a series of underground tunnels and baggage subways were built beneath the city streets, some of which still exist today, hidden from public view.

The local happenings you don't want to miss…

  • Where Dayton neighbors can stay warm as single-digit temperatures arrive.

  • Students, artists, and volunteers show up big across the Miami Valley.

  • Dayton earns national recognition as one of America’s best places to live.

Thick brush, tangled woods, and overgrown acres don’t just make your property look neglected—they limit how you can use your land. Trails disappear. Space gets wasted. And clearing it by hand feels impossible. That’s where Buckeye Land Services comes in.

We now provide high-power forestry mulching, the fastest and cleanest way to reclaim your land without damaging the soil. Our equipment pulverizes brush, vines, saplings, and undergrowth on the spot, turning it into nutrient-rich mulch that improves your soil while leaving your property clean, open, and instantly usable. No burning. No piles. No hauling. Just transformation.

Whether you’re carving out new trails, expanding your yard, prepping for a future build, or finally taking back acreage that’s been untouched for years, our team delivers professional, efficient clearing that dramatically improves visibility, access, and property value. The difference is night-and-day—and most projects are completed in a single day.

Serving landowners across the Miami Valley, we bring the right equipment, the right technique, and the local expertise to make your land work for you again.

Local recreation centers, including spots like the Greater Dayton, Lohrey, and Northwest centers, are welcoming residents during the coldest hours, offering a warm seat and respite from the freeze. Beyond the rec centers, area shelters and St. Vincent de Paul facilities are also available if more support is needed.

Dayton Named One of the Nation’s Top 30 Best Places to Live

Dayton is getting national recognition after ranking among the top 30 most livable metro areas in the country, a list that weighs factors like affordability, job opportunities, quality of life, and overall value. The ranking highlights what many residents experience daily: a city where housing remains attainable, commutes are manageable, and neighborhoods still feel connected. From a growing downtown to strong healthcare, education, and innovation sectors, Dayton continues to offer big-city opportunities without the big-city pressure. This kind of spotlight helps attract new residents and investment while reinforcing pride among those who already call the Miami Valley home. At its core, the recognition reflects the people of Dayton: neighbors, workers, and community leaders, who keep showing why this city is a great place to live and grow.

Local Pierogi Fundraiser Brings Comfort Food and Community Together

Dayton’s favorite “Pierogi with a Purpose” fundraiser is back, pairing delicious handmade pierogi with a chance to help neighbors facing food insecurity across the Miami Valley. Each dozen of these lovingly prepared pierogi helps support Miami Valley Meals, the local nonprofit that turns donated food into nourishing meals for people in need and distributes them through community partners. The event runs as a pre-order sale from February 4 through February 18 (or until pierogi sell out), with pickups scheduled later in the month, so this is a great way to enjoy a local favorite while giving back. This fundraiser brings neighbors together in a simple but meaningful way, showing that food is love and that small acts of kindness can make a big impact right here at home.
