🐾 How to Keep Your Pets Safe in Bitter Cold Weather
With harsh winter temperatures here, local pet owners are being reminded that animals need special care just like people do. Experts recommend keeping pets indoors as much as possible, limiting the time they spend outside in freezing conditions, and protecting their paws from ice, salt and chemicals after walks. Also watch out for antifreeze and make sure pets always have access to unfrozen water and a warm place to rest.

When Miamisburg Cheered for Something Bigger Than the Game

Senior Night at Miamisburg High School took on deeper meaning as the community honored senior cheerleader Bre Ramberger during a home basketball game. Bre, who has been a cheerleader for more than ten years, is currently battling synovial sarcoma, a rare form of cancer, and her teammates wanted to make sure she felt supported.

The more you treat people how you want to be treated, they treat you the same way, and they show their appreciation for you as well

The cheer squad organized a special recognition to celebrate her strength, resilience, and years of school spirit, with family and classmates filling the gym in solidarity. The night served as a reminder that local sports often become spaces where Dayton-area communities come together during life’s hardest moments.

Three Cruisers, One Mission, and a Community That Delivered

Beavercreek residents came together for the second annual Feed the Creek: Cram the Cruiser event, filling three Beavercreek Police Department vehicles with donated food. The drive supports Feed the Creek, a local nonprofit founded by Sharon Fulcher that provides weekend meals to students experiencing food insecurity in the Beavercreek City School District. Community members donated non-perishable food items and money at a local Kroger location, surpassing the amount collected during last year’s event. Police officers volunteered their time to help collect and load donations, reinforcing the partnership between the department and local families. Organizers say the event helps ensure children have reliable access to food while also raising awareness about hunger affecting students right here in Greene County.
