  • New defense manufacturing contract boosts Dayton’s growing aerospace and 3D printing industry.

The hottest day of the year is the worst time to find out your AC isn't ready for it.

Most breakdowns don't happen randomly. A worn capacitor, low refrigerant, a dirty coil -- small problems that went undetected through winter and finally gave out under the pressure of a July heat wave. A failed compressor costs $1,500 to $2,500 to replace. An emergency call runs double the normal rate.

A $79 spring tune-up from Advantage Plumbing Heating & Air catches those problems now, before they become a midsummer emergency.

When Elliot's AC broke right after he bought his house, Advantage came out, found the issue, fixed it, and didn't charge him for the visit. That's who these people are.

4.8 stars. 918 Dayton reviews. They show up, they're honest, and they fix it right the first time.

Book your $79 AC tune-up before April 30th.

A Centerville Student Is Headed to the National Spelling Bee

A seventh grader from Watts Middle School in Centerville, Sidharth Nair, just earned a big win at the Wright State University Regional Spelling Bee, beating dozens of top young spellers from across the Miami Valley. The competition featured 48 students from grades four through eight representing six counties, and Nair secured the championship after correctly spelling the word “masseuse.” The event lasted 11 intense rounds, showing just how tough the competition was among students from Greene, Clark, Darke, Miami, Montgomery, and Preble counties. Nair says he discovered his love for spelling last year and prepared by studying the 4,000-word “Words of the Champions” list, practicing regularly with help from his parents. Now he will represent the Dayton region at the 2026 Scripps National Spelling Bee in Washington, D.C., May 26–28, putting a bright local spotlight on Centerville and the Miami Valley.
