Thick brush, tangled woods, and overgrown acres don’t just make your property look neglected—they limit how you can use your land. Trails disappear. Space gets wasted. And clearing it by hand feels impossible. That’s where Buckeye Land Services comes in.
We now provide high-power forestry mulching, the fastest and cleanest way to reclaim your land without damaging the soil. Our equipment pulverizes brush, vines, saplings, and undergrowth on the spot, turning it into nutrient-rich mulch that improves your soil while leaving your property clean, open, and instantly usable. No burning. No piles. No hauling. Just transformation.

DAYTON DIGEST
🧾 Bank of America Is Opening a Dayton-Area Branch
Construction is underway on a new Bank of America branch in Harrison Township at the former Forest Park Shopping Center site. Local leaders say the project brings fresh investment and jobs to a long-vacant corner of the community. The goal is to welcome customers later this year, giving Dayton area residents a major financial institution right in their neighborhood.
🏘️ Dayton Leads Ohio in Affordable Apartment Creation
A new study finds the Dayton region is outpacing other Ohio cities in building affordable apartments for renters with limited incomes. According to the report, more new units are being added here than anywhere else in the state, a key piece of a broader conversation about housing access and cost in the Miami Valley. Local housing advocates say this momentum could help ease pressure on rental markets that have been tight for years. Continued development could also attract more community and state investment.
✈️ Dayton International Airport Sees More Travelers in 2025
Dayton International Airport capped 2025 with a bump in passenger traffic — about 11,000 more departing flyers than the year before, a 1.7% increase. Officials mention that’s a positive sign given recent federal budget challenges and a government shutdown. With most carriers reporting growth and plans to build on this momentum, local travelers could see even more flights and destinations soon.

A Stronger Safety Net for Dayton Families
Dayton residents now have access to a 24-hour crisis line thanks to a new partnership between Miami Valley Community Action Partnership and Project Woman, two longtime organizations serving the region.
There is now a 24-hour crisis hotline for victims of domestic violence in Preble County: if you ever need help, call 937-456-6891.
The hotline is designed to support people experiencing domestic violence, assault, and related emergencies at any hour of the day or night. Project Woman, which has served the Miami Valley for nearly 50 years, brings deep expertise in crisis response and survivor advocacy. MV-CAP adds strong local outreach and wraparound services that help people move toward stability and safety. Together, this collaboration strengthens Dayton’s safety net and reminds neighbors they are never alone when they need help most.

Score Big for Recycling This Super Bowl Sunday
One in seven Americans will order takeout today, and about 60 percent of those meals will be pizza, making Super Bowl Sunday one of the biggest food and waste days of the year, according to Montgomery County Environmental Services. With all that game-day goodness on the horizon, officials are reminding Dayton residents that pizza boxes are now recyclable in Montgomery County. Boxes that are mostly clean can go in the recycling bin, while greasy sections should be torn off and thrown away to keep recycling streams free of contamination. This small habit helps reduce waste in local landfills and keeps the community cleaner, even during the busiest eating day of the year. It’s a simple way for neighbors to enjoy the big game while doing something positive for Dayton’s environment.

Vega is a German Shephed living her best life in West Carrollton with her owner, Michelle. She came into Michelle’s life at just eight weeks old and quickly claimed her place as a true companion (and the first dog Michelle has raised from puppyhood). Known for being as vocal as a husky, Vega is not shy about letting her feelings be heard (she has a lot to say 😄). She also shares her home happily with her cat brother, whom she absolutely adores.
When she is not chatting away, Vega loves getting outside for long hikes at the Metro Parks, splashing around in rivers and lakes, and soaking up all the fresh air she can find. Her love of adventure may run in the family (her dad was a retired police dog). More than anything, Vega has been a steady, comforting presence through some of Michelle’s toughest seasons ❤️. Loyal, outdoorsy, and full of personality, she is the kind of dog who makes every day a little brighter.
