Good morning, Dayton!
Here’s Your Daily Dose of Dayton
Did you know... Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, straddling Fairborn and the eastern Dayton area, is one of the largest Air Force bases in the world by land area, and it houses the National Museum of the United States Air Force - the largest military aviation museum on the planet, and it's free to visit.
The inside track on local happenings:
Free summer meals are coming for kids and teens across the Dayton area
RiverScape is hosting a free outdoor festival tomorrow night
Sinclair Community College just earned a spot on a prestigious national top-25 list

The hottest day of the year is the worst time to find out your AC isn't ready for it.
Most breakdowns don't happen randomly. A worn capacitor, low refrigerant, a dirty coil - small problems that went undetected through winter and finally gave out under the pressure of a July heat wave. A failed compressor costs $1,500 to $2,500 to replace. An emergency call runs double the normal rate.
A $99 spring tune-up from Advantage Plumbing Heating & Air catches those problems now, before they become a midsummer emergency.
When Elliot's AC broke right after he bought his house, Advantage came out, found the issue, fixed it, and didn't charge him for the visit. That's who these people are.
4.8 stars. 918 Dayton reviews. They show up, they're honest, and they fix it right the first time.
Book your $99 AC tune-up before April 30th.

FOODIE FRIDAY
Dayton foodies, your weekend lineup of must‑try spots is here!
Submarine House
A Dayton legend with a submarine sandwich and comfort food menu that locals have been devoted to for decades. The original subs and loaded burgers are made the old-fashioned way. If you grew up in Dayton, you already know. If you did not, it is time to find out.
📍6100 Far Hills Ave, Dayton📍
Little Fish Brewing Company
A farm-to-table craft brewery with 20 rotating taps and a scratch kitchen that earns its own following. The barrel-aged sours and hazy IPAs are the beer nerds' picks, but the food is worth an order on its own. One of the most thoughtfully run taprooms in Dayton.
📍116 Webster St, Dayton📍
Toxic Brew Company
An edgy, plant-filled taproom in the heart of the historic Oregon District known for a bold "pick your poison" mentality, the lineup features everything from smooth, fruit-forward blondes to massive, high-gravity IPAs and imperial stouts. It's a vibrant neighborhood hub showcasing local art, creative cocktails, and a killer patio perfect for people-watching.

Dayton's Community College Just Made the National Top 25
Sinclair Community College has been named one of 25 semifinalists for the 2027 Aspen Prize for Community College Excellence, often called the most prestigious recognition in American higher education for two-year colleges. Sinclair earned the spot after being selected from nearly 1,000 institutions nationwide, evaluated on student learning, graduation rates, and whether graduates go on to land good jobs or earn four-year degrees. The Aspen Institute looks specifically for colleges that deliver real results after graduation, not just during it. Sinclair President Dr. Steve Johnson credited the college's 140-year history of open-door, accessible education in Dayton as the foundation for the honor. The final award will be decided in 2027, with $1 million distributed among the top finalists.
