Good morning, Dayton!
Here’s Your Daily Dose of Dayton
Did you know…Did you know the technology that allowed libraries to shrink entire rooms of documents onto small film sheets was perfected in Dayton? Carl Carlson developed the PCMI microfiche process at NCR in the 1960s, a vital step in the evolution of information storage
The inside track on local happenings:
MetroParks needs volunteers April 25 for the Adopt-A-Park cleanup.
Wright-Patt expands trauma training with a new UC Health simulation center.
Library egg hunts return as DPS reviews possible start time changes.

Angelina came home from a three day family trip to find sewage rising out of her basement into her shower and toilet. Four to five inches of it.
She called Advantage Plumbing Heating & Air. Dustin and Ramsey showed up, diagnosed the problem, snaked the drain and the foundation line, and walked her through everything they were doing step by step. She now requests those two technicians by name every time she calls.
That's who you're dealing with.
Right now Advantage is offering $89 drain clearing with a one year guarantee. Every job includes a free camera inspection of your pipes so you know exactly what you're dealing with. If they find something, you get an honest estimate. No pressure, no obligation.
A slow drain won't fix itself. The longer you wait, the worse it gets.

DAYTON DIGEST
🩺 Wright-Patt Medical Teams Get a Major Training Upgrade
A major military medical program tied to Wright-Patterson Air Force Base is expanding its partnership with UC Health through a new advanced simulation center. The Air Force’s 711th Human Performance Wing is helping support the C-STARS trauma training program, which prepares medical teams to treat critical injuries during combat and large-scale disasters. The upgraded facility will feature lifelike medical simulations, virtual training technology, and performance analysis tools. Officials say the expansion could train up to 300 Critical Care Air Transport teams annually, greatly increasing readiness for emergency missions.
⏰ School Start Times May Change in 2026
Dayton Public Schools is reviewing potential changes to school start times beginning in the 2026–2027 school year. District leaders say the review is focused on improving transportation efficiency and bus scheduling across the district. The changes could impact start and dismissal times for elementary, middle, and high schools. Officials emphasize the idea is still being evaluated, and families may have opportunities to share feedback before any final decisions are made.
🐣 Egg Hunts and Family Events Return to Local Libraries
Dayton Metro Library branches are preparing for spring with egg hunts and family-friendly events happening across the region. Many locations will host activities like crafts, games, and seasonal storytimes leading up to Easter. The events are free and designed to give families a fun way to spend time together in their neighborhood libraries. Organizers say the programs also help introduce families to the many resources and activities libraries offer year-round.

Dayton Neighbors Are Rolling Up Their Sleeves for Our Parks
If you love Dayton’s parks, here is a chance to help take care of them. Five Rivers MetroParks is looking for hundreds of volunteers to join its annual Adopt-A-Park day of service, happening from 9AM to noon on April 25 at multiple park locations across Montgomery County. Volunteers will work alongside MetroParks staff on projects like planting trees and shrubs, removing litter, restoring habitats, and improving trails at places such as RiverScape, Cox Arboretum, and Carriage Hill. The event welcomes individuals, families, and groups of all backgrounds, with several projects designed to be family friendly. Organizers say the goal is simple: bring the community together to protect the parks and waterways that make Dayton such a special place to live and explore.
