Thick brush, tangled woods, and overgrown acres don’t just make your property look neglected—they limit how you can use your land. Trails disappear. Space gets wasted. And clearing it by hand feels impossible. That’s where Buckeye Land Services comes in.
We now provide high-power forestry mulching, the fastest and cleanest way to reclaim your land without damaging the soil. Our equipment pulverizes brush, vines, saplings, and undergrowth on the spot, turning it into nutrient-rich mulch that improves your soil while leaving your property clean, open, and instantly usable. No burning. No piles. No hauling. Just transformation.
Whether you’re carving out new trails, expanding your yard, prepping for a future build, or finally taking back acreage that’s been untouched for years, our team delivers professional, efficient clearing that dramatically improves visibility, access, and property value. The difference is night-and-day—and most projects are completed in a single day.
Serving landowners across the Miami Valley, we bring the right equipment, the right technique, and the local expertise to make your land work for you again.

DAYTON DIGEST
🐟 Lent Is Here — and So Are the Fish Fries!
Ash Wednesday kicked off the Lenten season on February 18, and Miami Valley fish fry events are back in full swing every Friday through late March. Spots like Antioch Shrine in downtown Dayton, Holy Trinity on Bainbridge Street, and the Polish Club on Valley Street are already hosting weekly fries, with options ranging from dine-in to carry-out. Prices vary by location, generally running between $12 and $25 per person WDTN, so check ahead before you go. Whether you're observing Lent or just love a good Friday fish fry, there's no shortage of options close to home.
🚌 Riding the Bus? Your Route Might Look Different Soon
If you rely on the Greater Dayton RTA to get around, a heads-up is coming your way. Route 44 will see a routing adjustment along North Dixie Drive, and time adjustments are coming to Routes 1, 2, 8, 12, 17, 18, 19, 22, 44, X6, and the West Community Connector. All of these changes take effect March 1, so now is a good time to double-check your schedule on the RTA website before the new month arrives.
🚴 Dayton Wants to Make Getting Around Safer for Everyone
The City of Dayton is pushing forward with plans to make local streets more welcoming to cyclists and pedestrians. The city's Active Transportation Plan calls for new sidewalks, expanded bike lanes, and safety upgrades at roughly 250 intersections. Projects already in the pipeline for 2026 include the next phase of Salem Avenue reconstruction, Keowee Street safety improvements that will reduce the road from seven lanes to five, and a West Third Street rebuild that adds a multi-use path. The city's goal is to make sure residents can safely get from point A to point B, whether they're behind the wheel or not.

Honoring Dayton’s Trailblazer: Lelia I. Francis
Dayton Metro Library is teaming up with the Miami Valley Fair Housing Center to celebrate the life of Lelia I. Francis with a new Ohio Historical Marker. Francis, who moved to Dayton in 1943, broke barriers by becoming Ohio’s first African American real estate agent in 1947 and only the second in the U.S. Over a career spanning more than 50 years, she also founded Unity Bank and an African American mortgage company, making a lasting impact on the community’s economic landscape. Beyond her professional achievements, Francis was a passionate activist, notably participating in 1967 protests advocating for more African American hiring in downtown Dayton stores. The library is now calling on neighbors to share photos, business records, and awards to help tell her inspiring story.

Dayton Collaboratory Helps Wipe Out Nearly $22 Million in Medical Debt
A local effort led by the Dayton Collaboratory has erased about $21.95 million in outstanding medical debt for more than 15,000 people across Dayton and the surrounding region. Community partners including the Mercy Health Foundation, Turner Foundation and county Democratic parties helped raise $137,850, which went toward purchasing and eliminating qualifying medical bills through a partnership with the nonprofit Undue Medical Debt. For many families, this relief meant wiping out thousands of dollars in bills, with some residents previously struggling under six‑figure balances they couldn’t afford. By helping clear this burden, the initiative gives Dayton area families greater financial breathing room and a stronger start toward long‑term well‑being. Organizers hope this campaign also raises awareness about how medical debt weighs on everyday life and sparks conversations about broader health cost solutions.
