TOGETHER WITH

Good morning, Dayton!

Here’s Your Daily Dose of Dayton
Did you know... Dayton's Anna Louise Inn, a residential facility for women in need that operated downtown for decades, was one of the longest-running charitable institutions in the city's history - founded in the early 20th century

The inside track on local happenings:

  • The Dayton Dragons are teaming up with Versiti Blood Center to keep the Miami Valley's blood supply strong all season long

  • University of Dayton just landed 13 programs in the national grad school rankings, including a tie with an Ivy League school

  • Allergy season is officially here, and a local doctor has simple advice to help you breathe easier this weekend

The hottest day of the year is the worst time to find out your AC isn't ready for it.

Most breakdowns don't happen randomly. A worn capacitor, low refrigerant, a dirty coil -- small problems that went undetected through winter and finally gave out under the pressure of a July heat wave. A failed compressor costs $1,500 to $2,500 to replace. An emergency call runs double the normal rate.

A $79 spring tune-up from Advantage Plumbing Heating & Air catches those problems now, before they become a midsummer emergency.

When Elliot's AC broke right after he bought his house, Advantage came out, found the issue, fixed it, and didn't charge him for the visit. That's who these people are.

4.8 stars. 918 Dayton reviews. They show up, they're honest, and they fix it right the first time.

Book your $79 AC tune-up before April 30th.

🌸 Dayton's Allergy Season Is Here and It's Coming in Hot
The Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America consistently ranks Dayton among the worst "Allergy Capitals" in the country, and Spring 2026 is shaping up to be one of the harder seasons in recent memory. Dr. Joseph Allen of Premier Health recommends showering before bed to wash pollen off, and starting antihistamines early before symptoms peak. Your sinuses will thank you for not waiting.

Dayton Is About to Pull Together for Its Biggest Neighborhood Cleanup of the Year

The Living City Project is returning to Dayton with a citywide cleanup, bringing together local churches, neighborhood associations, volunteer groups, and businesses alongside Declare and the City of Dayton to clear debris from historic neighborhoods across the city. Last year, more than 800 volunteers served across 32 neighborhoods, removing more than 137 tons of trash from Dayton's streets in a single effort. This year's event will also include partnerships with Rebuilding Together Dayton and Downtown Dayton, giving volunteers the option to assist with critical home repairs, accessibility modifications for seniors, and beautification projects like removing graffiti and planting flowers — so there's a role for everyone, no matter how you want to show up. Registration is not required, but signing up helps organizers place participants where they're most needed.

Head to LivingCityProject.org to find your neighborhood and register.
