TOGETHER WITH

Good morning, Dayton!

Here’s Your Daily Dose of Dayton
Did you know…Dayton was once one of the leading centers of automobile manufacturing in the United States, with companies like Stoddard-Dayton, Courier, and Maxwell all producing vehicles in the Miami Valley before Detroit ultimately became the dominant hub of the American auto industry.

Your all-access pass to the city’s pulse…

  • Montgomery County leaders gathered to build lasting solutions to food insecurity across Dayton neighborhoods.

  • Waste-Free Dayton marks five years of cleanups with a Feb. 28th event in the Historic Inner East.

  • From kebabs to burnt ends, three local restaurants are ready to earn your weekend appetite.

Thick brush, tangled woods, and overgrown acres don’t just make your property look neglected—they limit how you can use your land. Trails disappear. Space gets wasted. And clearing it by hand feels impossible. That’s where Buckeye Land Services comes in.

We now provide high-power forestry mulching, the fastest and cleanest way to reclaim your land without damaging the soil. Our equipment pulverizes brush, vines, saplings, and undergrowth on the spot, turning it into nutrient-rich mulch that improves your soil while leaving your property clean, open, and instantly usable. No burning. No piles. No hauling. Just transformation.

Whether you’re carving out new trails, expanding your yard, prepping for a future build, or finally taking back acreage that’s been untouched for years, our team delivers professional, efficient clearing that dramatically improves visibility, access, and property value. The difference is night-and-day—and most projects are completed in a single day.

Serving landowners across the Miami Valley, we bring the right equipment, the right technique, and the local expertise to make your land work for you again.

DAYTON DIGEST

🍎 Fighting Food Insecurity, Together
Community leaders, nonprofit partners, and local advocates came together this week for the Montgomery County Food Summit to tackle food insecurity head-on. Hosted in collaboration with Montgomery County and regional partners, the conference focused on long-term solutions, from strengthening food distribution networks to improving access in underserved neighborhoods. Organizers say the goal is not just emergency response, but building a stronger, more sustainable local food system. For many Dayton families, these conversations could shape how support shows up in the months ahead.

Let’s Keep Dayton Beautiful: Join the Five-Year Anniversary Cleanup!

Waste-Free Dayton is celebrating a huge milestone this month as they head back to the Historic Inner East for their first litter cleanup of 2026. This special event on Saturday, February 28th, marks five years since the grassroots group began its mission to revitalize our neighborhoods, proving just how much a dedicated group of neighbors can accomplish together. Volunteers will be gathering at the corner of Hamilton Avenue and Yates Street from 10 AM to 12 PM to clear away the debris that winter snow has been hiding from view. It’s a wonderful way to get some fresh air, meet fellow Daytonians, and take tangible pride in the streets we call home.

Whether you're a longtime supporter or a first-timer, the team provides all the bags and grabbers you need to help make our community shine. You can easily join the movement by signing up to volunteer on their website or by visiting their official link tree at linktr.ee/wastefreedayton.
