Thick brush, tangled woods, and overgrown acres don’t just make your property look neglected—they limit how you can use your land. Trails disappear. Space gets wasted. And clearing it by hand feels impossible. That’s where Buckeye Land Services comes in.
We now provide high-power forestry mulching, the fastest and cleanest way to reclaim your land without damaging the soil. Our equipment pulverizes brush, vines, saplings, and undergrowth on the spot, turning it into nutrient-rich mulch that improves your soil while leaving your property clean, open, and instantly usable. No burning. No piles. No hauling. Just transformation.
Whether you’re carving out new trails, expanding your yard, prepping for a future build, or finally taking back acreage that’s been untouched for years, our team delivers professional, efficient clearing that dramatically improves visibility, access, and property value. The difference is night-and-day—and most projects are completed in a single day.

✈️ Airport Gateway on Track for Upgrade
Dayton International Airport will soon get a more welcoming entrance thanks to a planned enhancement of the National Road/U.S. 40 overpass that greets travelers arriving and leaving our region. The project, which includes new lighting, signage, and landscaping, seeks roughly $2.2 million in funds as part of the region’s larger list of priorities submitted for state and federal support.
⛳ Yankee Trace Tops Region in Youth Golf Participation
The Golf Club at Yankee Trace in Centerville was the most popular spot in the Dayton area for youth golfers through the Youth on Course program in 2025, with more than 3,180 rounds played by young players from nine states. The initiative lets kids ages 6 to 18 play for $5 or less, helping break down financial barriers to the sport and nurturing the next generation of golfers.

Why More Neighbors Are Feeling Confident Downtown Again

Downtown Dayton is seeing real progress when it comes to public safety, and it is something the whole community can feel good about. According to the City of Dayton, crime in the Central Business District has dropped significantly since 2019, including a 35 percent decrease in violent crime and a 24 percent reduction in property crime. City leaders credit the improvement to a stronger on-the-ground presence, including daily Bicycle Response Teams that increase visibility and build relationships with downtown visitors and workers. Technology is also playing a key role, with 52 fixed security cameras and a Real-Time Crime Center helping officers respond faster and more strategically. Looking ahead, a new police substation planned for Wright Stop Plaza in early 2026 is expected to further strengthen safety as downtown continues to grow as a place to live, work, and gather.

Art, Memory, and Community Bloom at EbonNia Gallery
Downtown Dayton’s EbonNia Gallery is hosting a moving and meaningful exhibition called In Living Memory that brings together diverse artists from across the Miami Valley to celebrate life, heritage, and remembrance. The show, presented by the local collective Women Strong, honors the legacy of co-founder Janet Lasley, an artist and educator who passed away in 2023, through vibrant works that reflect each artist’s cultural story.

Women Strong’s members span Jewish, African-American, Iranian, Chinese, and Native American backgrounds, plus a wide range of ages and life experiences, making this more than an art show, but a celebration of Dayton’s rich, multicultural spirit. Visitors will see a range of pieces: from traditional ceramics and collages to abstract multimedia art, all united by themes of resilience, healing, and shared humanity. In Living Memory runs through January 31 and is free to enjoy, giving neighbors a chance to connect with the artists and each other through creativity.

Dayton health officials say a new RSV prevention shot for infants, along with vaccines given during pregnancy, is reducing severe RSV illness this season. RSV can be dangerous for babies, often leading to breathing problems and hospital stays. Local providers encourage families to talk with their health care professionals early about available protection options.
Public Health–Dayton & Montgomery County is explaining recent changes to national vaccine recommendations and how they apply locally. Officials emphasize that recommended vaccines remain safe, effective, and available for families in the Dayton area. Staying up to date with routine immunizations continues to be an important part of protecting community health.
