Good morning, Dayton!
Here’s Your Daily Dose of Dayton
Did you know... the Five Rivers MetroParks trail system, which connects Dayton's river corridors and green spaces through a network of paved and natural surface paths, was largely developed in the 1990s and 2000s and is now one of the more used recreational amenities in the region - evidence that trail infrastructure, once built, tends to generate its own demand.

PARTNER SPOTLIGHT
If you have ever called a contractor and hit voicemail, you already know what happens next. You hang up and call someone else.
It turns out that is not just an occasional inconvenience - it is one of the most consistent ways local home service businesses lose revenue without ever knowing it. Studies show that small home service businesses miss up to 62% of their incoming calls. And 85% of those callers never try again.
That is the problem DYT Digital was built to solve. They build systems that answer calls, capture lead information, and notify the business owner automatically - so no opportunity slips through the cracks while a technician is out on a job.
In their first week working with a local Dayton contractor, their system handled 34 calls, triggered 109 automated actions, and maintained 100% positive caller sentiment across every single interaction.
They also help local businesses show up stronger on Google - so when a homeowner is searching for a contractor at 9pm, the right business is the one that comes up.
If you know someone running an HVAC, plumbing, roofing, or home service business in Dayton, this is worth sending their way.

Helping Lost Pets Find Home, One Microchip at a Time

The Humane Society of Greater Dayton is turning a Miamisburg fire station into a drive-thru microchip clinic on Friday, October 23, with no appointment needed. It partnered with Miami Township, the City of Miamisburg, and the Miami Valley Fire District to put it on. Dogs and cats are welcome from 1 to 5 p.m. at Fire Station 51, 10899 Wood Road, and owners can stay in the car the whole time.
Brian Weltge, the Humane Society’s president and CEO, calls microchipping “a simple, permanent form of identification” that helps when a pet goes missing. The clinic builds on the organization’s work to make preventative pet care easier for local families to reach.
