TOGETHER WITH

Good morning, Dayton!

Here’s Your Daily Dose of Dayton
Did you know... the Miamisburg Mound is the largest conical burial mound in Ohio, standing 65 feet tall and stretching nearly 900 feet in circumference at its base - and it's sitting right in a quiet riverside park that most locals drive past without realizing what it is.

The inside track on local happenings:

  • Wright-Patt is hiring 2,000 workers and hosting a regional job fair

  • The weekend features Earth Day events, car shows, stargazing, and live performances

  • Centerville graduate Cotie McMahon was selected in the first round of the WNBA Draft

The hottest day of the year is the worst time to find out your AC isn't ready for it.

Most breakdowns don't happen randomly. A worn capacitor, low refrigerant, a dirty coil -- small problems that went undetected through winter and finally gave out under the pressure of a July heat wave. A failed compressor costs $1,500 to $2,500 to replace. An emergency call runs double the normal rate.

A $79 spring tune-up from Advantage Plumbing Heating & Air catches those problems now, before they become a midsummer emergency.

When Elliot's AC broke right after he bought his house, Advantage came out, found the issue, fixed it, and didn't charge him for the visit. That's who these people are.

4.8 stars. 918 Dayton reviews. They show up, they're honest, and they fix it right the first time.

Book your $79 AC tune-up before April 30th.

From Centerville Gym to the WNBA Stage

Centerville High School graduate Cotie McMahon was selected No. 11 overall by the Washington Mystics in the first round of the 2026 WNBA Draft on Monday, April 13 in New York City. The 6-foot forward played three seasons at Ohio State before transferring to Ole Miss, where she averaged 19.5 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 3.0 assists this past season. She was named the SEC Newcomer of the Year, earned first-team All-SEC honors, and was recognized as a second-team All-American by The Sporting News. McMahon was one of just 15 prospects invited to attend the draft in person and described her game as built on speed and attacking downhill in transition. Centerville should be proud: one of its own is heading to the pros, and she is just getting started.
